Alan Nunn joined Newport Networks as CTO in Spring 2006, bringing with him over 19 years experience in carrier telecommunications. Prior to joining Newport Networks, Alan was Chief Voice Architect in BT Group’s Chief Technology Office. He was responsible for setting the future direction of BT’s voice networks, covering both traditional PSTN as it moves to the 21CN IP based infrastructure, and new VoIP services. He dealt primarily with technology and strategic issues around Voice and emerging Broadband services, and was a prime mover behind the development of BT’s 21CN Core Voice strategy. He has a first class honours degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and is a Member of the Institute of Electrical Engineers and a Chartered Engineer.
