David Diaz has been CTO and Founder of Smart Photon Networks (a Global Xtreme, Inc. company) for 4 years. Prior he was the CTO of Netrail, 1 of 10 Tier1 Internet companies which later became Cogent’s backbone. Earlier, he was the first peering adviser at Bellsouth.net’s new backbone and was the co-architect of the Bellsouth MIX, the world’s first optical exchange point.  Dave has over 10 years of experience in advising and designing networks for several public sector agencies as well as large business networks. Smart Photon Networks/GX designs, builds and maintains infrastructure for companies that require high-availability for mission critical applications.
