Gary Kim has been an industry analyst and commentator since 1983, and most recently was director of strategic research for Convergent Communications, an Englewood, Colorado-based company active in both premises and wide area networking. He has held senior level positions with several telecom market research organizations. Kim’s journalistic career also includes senior level management at several telecommunications publications, including Cable World, Multichannel News and Communications Engineering & Design. He also has written for Lightwave Journal, Telephony, America’s Network, Communications Technology, CableVision and Outside Plant. Kim received his undergraduate (B.A., History) and graduate degrees (M.S., Management) at the University of Oregon, and was a member of the UO faculty for five years.
