Michael Boehlert studied telecommunications at the University of Applied Sciences of Deutsche Bundespost, now Deutsche Telekom. After receiving his Diploma he worked as a development engineer for measurement/testing equipment at CREATEC GmbH as well as designer of chip-sets for the SDH transmission technology at KRONE AG. Prepared with this knowledge he took over a pre-sales position at Samsung Semiconductor and supported as an Application Engineer the design-in of state of the art semiconductor chip-sets with focus on the European telecommunication manufacturer market. His career continued with positons in in ECI Telecom at which he was working the pre-sales and sales area, responsible for technologies like DCME, VoIP and SDH. In the year 2003 Michael joint ancotel in order to lead the technical team for the interconnection services. It was at that time that the idea of the virtualization of transport network hardware was born in ancotel. Based on his knowledge with state of the art transmission technology he designed the virtual meet me room (vmmr) helping carriers to reduce dramatically OPEX and CAPEX costs. As a director of technology and consulting, Michael takes care for new product development in the area of managed services like shared VoIP platforms and other virtualized platforms. In his spare free time he is playing E-Bass guitar in a BigBand and sometimes you can hear him singing at that band also songs of Robbie Williams. |
